CHOOSING YOUR PLANT
Once you’ve decided where you are planting and have considered the conditions, you will have the information to select the best plant for your area.
By using Tree of Life you're able to choose any plant or tree. We often find that customers select something that represents the deceased's character or a plant that had special sentimental meaning.
We understand that selecting a tree which reflects the personality of the deceased will be paramount, however: by balancing this with the conditions in your garden or planting area, you’ll give your memorial the best chance of thriving.
We advise selecting a perennial hardy plant to give the most chance of success. This means a plant that can cope with cold temperatures and comes back each year.
We provide full, detailed instructions when you order your planting kit, however please Contact Us or visit our FAQ page if you have any questions or queries.

USING YOUR TREE OF LIFE MEMORIAL SET IN A CONTAINER
If you are planting in a container, it’s essential to use a large planter, as the size will work alongside our specialist mixture to balance the high pH levels and sodium in the ashes.
When you come to plant, please read the instructions on your Care Card for more detailed advice and directions.
To plant with your Tree of Life Memorial Planting Set:
-
Create a hole in your container at least two times the size of the root ball of your plant.
-
Using the measuring scoop, place the advised quantity of ash (this is on your instructions) into a large bowl or container, add the specialist soil mixture and ensure the ashes are evenly distributed.
-
Empty the ash and soil mixture into the hole and place your plant on top.
-
Fill in the rest of the hole with soil, water well and make sure your plant is kept well-watered until established. Now you can care for your chosen memorial plant as required.
