Recently, I spoke to Therapist and Mindset Coach Paul Wilson on his podcast, A Happy Head.
I spoke from a very personal place about my own experiences learning to cope with overwhelming feelings of grief. Speaking out about something that's painful and personal is a hard thing to do. I was nervous before the recording session however, I knew that my voice had the power to help other people and sharing what I've learned from my experiences could help relieve some of their pain.
It is from this personal pain and learning how to cope with it that I set up Tree of Life. I found that in the darkest moments, gardening truly brought me comfort. Planting seeds and flowers in my garden forced me to look towards the future, to when the seed would become a seedling, to when the flower would need feeding. Nature goes as it's own pace and it's a powerful thing to understand that sometimes we can't rush.
We can't rush nature, we can't rush a seed's growth and we can't rush through grief.
Learning to acknowledge this can be huge, especially in emotionally turbulent times.
