What comes in a Tree of Life planting kit?

A Tree of Life planting kit allows you to plant a tree, flowering plant, bush or shrub with a portion of cremated ash. We offer kits suitable for use with cremated ash from a human or from a pet who has sadly passed away.
Your planting kit will be delivered in a box which is clearly marked with the Tree of Life logo, if you are not planning to use the kit to plant with immediately, we advise that you decant the specialist soil mixture into a different container as the cotton bag is designed to biodegrade after a few weeks.

Everything we post out to you is fully recyclable and compostable. We don’t use plastic, even the packaging tape on the box is biodegradable.
Why don’t I receive a tree with my kit?
We have specially designed the soil mixture to allow you to select a plant or tree of your choice. You can buy plants or trees at your local garden center or online. Often people will choose something that has sentimental value for whose ashes you’re planting. Some of the most popular plants have been Roses, Cherry Blossom trees, Magnolias and Peonies.
The plant you choose may also depend on the conditions in the area you are planning to create your memorial. Different plants prefer different conditions, it’s best to do a bit of research prior to purchasing your chosen plant to ensure it has the best chance of thriving.
What if I don’t understand the instructions?
For many people, gardening can be scary and daunting. There can be a lot of gardening jargon and it's confusing. We have written the planting instructions very clearly, no jargon - so they can be understood and carried out by almost anyone.
